Hey friends and family!
How is everything back home? We miss everyone so much! Well, here it is still a Ukranian holiday, so nothing toward the process is being done, but why not enjoy it while were here. Yesterday, Marina took us siteseeing all around Zap. It was really fun! We went and had pizza at our hot spot here, all of the waitresses know us by now and know to bring us an english menu..haha. So we had some salad and pizza and then Marina called a cab to take us to see the dam. It was actually really fascinating. The water levels were so strange, it was really high on one side of the bridge and really low on the other...strange. We walked across this bridge to get a better view to take pictures and the bridge was really shaky from all the cars, everytime one would drive past, it would flinch...scary!!! Next we went on no kidding...probably a 10 mile walk...haha... through this little park where we acted like kids taking pictures with all the little statues and kids toys like there was a Snow White and prince and 7 dwarfs and Christina and Mom acted like they were kissing the prince, we just had a good ol' time! Next, Marina showed us the professional soccer stadium, and some other little things. Then we went to this amazing little cafe for some dessert. And last but not least, we walked all the way to the river. It was awesome, it looked like Gulf Shores or something with sand and umbrellas and people playing in the water. It even had like little tiki restaurants and one big boat that took you out on the river for dinner, it was so cool! We finally got back to the apartment at about 8 and watched How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days in Russian with English subtitles...haha. Well, thats all for now, we are going shopping today! Love to all, Anna

Anna you have done an excellent job keeping the blog updated. My wife and I lead a high school junior small group at our church in Edmond, OK and believe it or not we use Student Life. We plan to read your post tomorrow about how the children were fighting over your love and attention and how that should mirror our desire for God. We also plan to ask our group to keep you and your family in their prayers.
It is awesome to hear how God is working in your life and how your desire is to draw closer to God. I am grateful to get to follow your journey via the blog. My wife and I are in the process of adopting a child from Guatemala; we leave Oklahoma City on July 9th to bring her home. I only hope we can do 1/2 as good of a job with our blog as you have done with yours!
Hey,
I just finished putting every dvd that I have together to send to yall. Lynn, you know that our girls bible group isn't meeting in July but last week we studied about Josiah and what an impact he made for the Lord at such a young age. We talked about how his world wasn't much different than what the girls face today-idolatry and all the stuff that mattered so much to the people then as it matters to us today. You know what was so awesome is that he personally went and destroyed the idols . He already had so much power that he could have sent one of his servants but he took action and restored back to what honored the Lord. You can make a difference no matter how old or young you are for the Lord. It was so awesome to end our year with this lesson because you and I have seen how much the girls have grown closer to God this past year and you and I have grown closer to God just having the pleasure to grow with them. They have taught us so much. I have seen how you have grown spiritually this last year also and I know next year will be a time of growing closer with each other and with the Lord. And just like Josiah this girls have shown us how much they love the Lord by their actions, their attitudes toward what really matters in their lives and their commitment to honor the Lord. So I am with you for teaching this incredible group of soon to be juniors (you know we are really old). After I saw Casey and Lauren stand in as you and I last Sunday, how could I not return- it was so funny!
Anna it is so awesome when you talk about the kids there. Unless someone has been there they can't fully comprehend that these kids are just like us, just wanting someone to love them. They really do become your family and ANYONE could love them if only they would open their hearts and step outside of their comfort zone and realize that when you adopt them- you are not their hero but they become your hero. Isn't is so awesome how God placed them at the right time in our lives, to bless us so. What does the face of an orphan child look like? If everyone looks at your photo gallery they will see that the child smiling back at them looks like you and me and a sister , a brother, our next door neighbor, a kid at the ballpark or the movies or anywhere only they don't have anyone to tuck them in bed, to read a book to them, to wrestle on the floor, to make them peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, to say hey I am so proud of you-you are an incredible person. Nope - they have a lonely, heartless future. I pray that one person who reads this blog will open up their lives to be changed forever in wanting one of these children. Love is really a simple thing to offer and that is what matters the most in life.
I will call you soon!
